Our new administration has promised to make the COVID-19 vaccine "available to all."

You have to be proactive to take care of your health. No one's going to do it for you.

I would strongly encourage you to get your COVID-19 vaccine as soon as possible.

Who is eligible to receive the COVID-19 vaccine?

– healthcare workers

– people involved in long-care facilities

– 65 and older

How to get your COVID-19 vaccine:

STEP 1: Type: "San Diego Covid-19 Vaccination Schedule" in your computer's search browser.

STEP 2: Click on "Vaccination Locations - County of San Diego" and scroll down.

STEP 3: Read through all the current people who are eligible. You will see at the top "Those 65 and older now included," so you can get your vaccine right away.

Tip: The easiest place to go is Petco Park Super Station because they are doing 5,000 vaccines per day. It's the easiest to get a schedule.

STEP 4: Schedule your appointment.

Tip: Don't get discouraged if you don't get the first time, because remember that there will be several people trying to get on to that location to get scheduled. Don't give up. Keep going back. The best time to do it is first thing in the morning.

Get Vaccinated Twice!

Remember the COVID vaccine doesn't kick in until 10 days after the first shot, and then you will need a second shot 21 days later for the Pfizer, or 28 days for the Moderna. You will need two vaccines for it to work the way it should.

Young People

For young folks, when your time comes, be sure to get your vaccine because you want to minimize the risk of exposure to others.

In the meantime, continue to wash your hands, wear a mask, social distance and make sure that you're not going into indoor places in exposing yourself.
