THIS WEEK: Starting Thursday anyone 16 + is eligible for the COVID-19 vaccine

This week starting Thursday, anyone 16 and up is now eligible for the COVID-19 Vaccine. Also, a new Vaccine Clinic is opening up at Mountain View at Educational Cultural Complex (ECC) that does not require any appointments. Don't forget to watch our new video on those already part of the vaccine club taking action in getting their lives back to normal and submit your picture as well once you get vaccinated. Lastly, although there is a pause in the Johnson and Johnson vaccine, Moderna and Pfizer are still being administered.

Starting Thursday April 15 anyone 16 and over will be eligible for the COVID-19 vaccine.

What to know before your vaccine:

  • Take it easy the night before to ensure potential symptoms are not a result of other unrelated activities.
  • Anticipate the COVID-19 vaccines may cause minor side effects in some people, like sore muscles, feeling tired, or mild fever.
  • Do not take acetaminophen or ibuprofen in anticipation of potentially having side effects from the vaccine.
  • Taking these medications for the purpose of preventing post-vaccination symptoms is not currently recommended.

Johnson & Johnson Vaccine Paused

As of April 12, more than 6.8 million doses of the Johnson & Johnson (Janssen ) vaccine have been administered in the U.S. CDC and FDA are reviewing data involving six reported U.S. cases of a rare and severe type of blood clot in individuals after receiving the J&J vaccine

Although there is a pause in the Johnson and Johnson vaccine, Moderna and Pfizer vaccines are still being administered.
