With COVID-19, Flu Vaccine More Important Than Ever

Keeping the San Diego community healthy is our top priority. With the COVID-19 pandemic, it’s more important this year than ever before to keep our immune systems up and protect ourselves from other illnesses, like the flu. We can all do our part and stop the spread by getting a flu vaccine.

Did you know? The flu vaccine is available at doctors’ offices and pharmacies throughout San Diego County and is covered by medical insurance. People who do not have healthcare coverage can get vaccinated at one of the County’s six Public Health Centers or a local community clinic. Find a nearby clinic and get your flu vaccine today for FREE.

Fortunately, the steps you can take to protect you and your loved ones from both viruses are the same:

  1. Stay home if you or a family member are sick
  2. Cover your cough or sneeze
  3. Avoid touching your face
  4. Wash your hands often, with plenty of soap and warm water.
  5. Clean and disinfect surfaces often
  6. Wear a face covering
  7. Practice Social/Physical Distancing
  8. Get enough rest, exercise regularly and eat a healthy diet to maintain a strong immune system.
